A quick framework for picking a Ravencoin wallet.
There are really only a handful of decisions to make: light client vs full node, dedicated wallet vs multi-coin wallet, and software-only vs hardware-paired. Most users land on the same answer (light client, dedicated, hardware-paired for meaningful balances), but the trade-offs are worth understanding before committing.
Light client unless you are specifically running infrastructure or want to validate the chain yourself.
Electrum RVN is the light client. It is usable within seconds of installation, uses well under 100 MB of disk, supports hardware-wallet pairing, and trusts the servers it queries for chain data (your keys, never). Ravencoin Core is the full node — slower to set up, multiple GB of disk, validates everything itself. Many users run both: Core on a home server, Electrum RVN as the day-to-day UI pointed at it.
Dedicated or multi-coin?
Dedicated if you actually care about Ravencoin. Multi-coin wallets (Atomic, Trust Wallet, exchange wallets) trade depth for breadth — they list many chains, but their RVN support is shallow. Trust Wallet does not support Ravencoin at all; Atomic supports basic RVN balances but not the asset layer. For anything beyond passive holding, a dedicated Ravencoin wallet is the right tool.

Software-only is fine for small balances. For anything you'd be uncomfortable losing in a laptop theft or a host compromise, pair a Ledger or Trezor — the seed lives on the device, signatures are confirmed on the device screen, and a compromised computer cannot move funds. A hardware wallet costs less than the smallest meaningful loss, so for almost any non-trivial balance it pays for itself instantly.
The 12 or 24-word BIP-39 seed phrase restores cleanly into Electrum RVN regardless of which wallet generated it. Install Electrum RVN, choose "Restore wallet" on first run, type the seed, and the wallet re-derives every address from it. If you used a hardware device with another wallet, the same seed will re-derive the same addresses in Electrum RVN paired with that device — your balance and history will appear once the chain rescan completes.
